Calling the Shots get in on the Random Acts

We’re all really excited to announce that Calling the Shots is going to be the Network Partner in the South West for the Arts Council and Channel 4 series, Random Acts!

Over the next three years, we’ll be delivering 72 short films by young people aged from 16-24, but not only that. We’ll also be getting out around the region to find talent, delivering inspirational workshops, residential training camps, providing equipment and technical support, and teaming young filmmakers with a professional producer/mentor from.

Evaluation from the BFI Animation Camp

We’re just back from the feedback workshop for the 38 partner organisations that have been commissioned to deliver the BFI’s Film Academy programme of filmmaking workshops for 16-19 year olds (see here). It has been great to hear about all the other programmes taking place across the country, and very gratifying as well to see clips from two of our films included in the BFI’s showreel of activity from the Film Academy this year.

Future Cemetery and virtual memorialisation

Calling the Shots is involved in the consultation phase of an interesting and far-reaching project, The Future Cemetery, that is looking into the future of death.
