BFI Animation Camp 2020

Are you interested in Stop-Motion Animation?

Aged 16-19?

Then the BFI Film Academy Animation Camp could be perfect for you!

Calling The Shots has run a week-long animation camp during February half term every year for the last six years on behalf of the British Film Institute.

Delivered in partnership with oscar-winning Aardman Animations and the University of the West of England’s School of Animation, our course offers 25 places for young people with a passion for animation to work together in teams to make five animated shorts.

We focus on ‘lens-based’ animation, using cameras to shoot 3D models or 2D artwork.

Participants learn about every stage of production, covering story development, model making, animation production and post production. We also offer sessions on careers advice and master-classes with practicing industry professionals from the Bristol animation scene.

We are hoping to be running the course again in February next year (provisional dates are Saturday, 15th to Friday, 21st Feb 2020).
