BFI Animation Camp 2019 – COMING SOON!

Film Academy is a scheme for young people aged 16-19 with a passion for film, funded by the British Film Institute.

BFI Film Academy offers courses all over the UK, ranging from locally delivered twelve-week film production courses to national camps dealing with specialist skill areas.

Calling The Shots has run the BFI Film Academy Animation Camp for the last five years.  Our course offers 25 places for young people with a passion for animation to work together in teams to make five animated shorts.

About the course

Delivered in partnership with Oscar-winning Aardman Animations and the University of the West of England’s School of Animation, our course takes place at Barton Camp outside Bristol. Participants learn about every stage of production covering story development, model making, animation production and post production.

We also offer sessions on careers advice and master-classes with practicing industry professionals from the Bristol animation scene.

We are hoping to be running the camp again in February 2019.   Check back in September for details of how to apply.
