New Creatives Announced!

Calling the Shots are incredibly excited to be running the Arts Council England and BBC Arts backed New Creatives project for the South West region. This new talent development scheme will give artists aged 16-30 from a range of backgrounds the chance to have their work commissioned for BBC platforms, with a particular focus on those underrepresented in the arts. Providing opportunities for young artists to develop professional and creative skills, the programme will encourage them to push creative boundaries, reach new audiences and reflect their experiences of living in Britain today.

We’ll be working with partner organisations across the region including Somerset Film (Bridgwater), Kaleider (Exeter), Create Studios (Swindon), Screen Cornwall (Redruth) and Watershed (Bristol).

We will be opening applications for submissions in April 2019, find out more over at our New Creatives page

Evaluation from the BFI Animation Camp

It has been great to hear about all the other programmes taking place across the country, and very gratifying as well to see clips from two of our films included in the BFI’s showreel of activity from the Film Academy this year.
