Katz Laszlo – Mama – Audio

Mama is a sonic poem, remembering an evolving mother-daughter relationship on a Wiltshire walk home. It explores how we perceive our mothers differently as we grow into our own womanhood. The piece will experiment with sampling natural sounds – both ethereal and squelchy – in collaboration with a composer.

Katz Laszlo got her start in audio in NYC. She was teaching biology to pay rent and ended up interning at a science show on public radio. She likes making silly sound-design that tricks people into feeling things while learning about science. This will be her most experimental work yet.
