Midas had the contract to re-furbish Bristol’s former central fire station and convert it into a flagship youth centre, and approached CTS to help design a project that would demonstrate, contrary to industry norms, they could engage constructively with young people.
CTS recruited, trained and supported a team of young filmmakers to produce a series of films that documented the process of refurbishment, highlighted the role played by apprentices in the industry and explored the history of the building.
We know that the long-term sustainability of the industry means we need to see young people coming in. This project seemed a great way to break down a few barriers and get some young people in the door, give them a real role in the project and hopefully inspire a few to make a career in construction in the future
