Backbone is a surrealist dark drama about an act of violence that causes a woman with severe scoliosis to see her disability in a new light. Ultimately the film is about finding self-empowerment and identity through accepting what makes us unique.
Xenia recently directed SEW, a short documentary about a Filipino mail-order bride. Prior to this she produced PORCELAIN, an experimental short film that explores skin lightening in Southeast Asia.
