Filming and recording with our Round Three New Creatives is well underway and the stories coming to life are incredible.
Last week saw Anna Mouzouri shoot her film, ‘Fruity: a no-dialogue coming of age short comedy about a lonely lesbian plagued with intrusive thoughts of fruit whenever she attempts to masturbate. ‘Fruity’ is a tale of female empowerment and sexual prowess.
A third-year film student, Anna has directed three short films, with her last documentary being nominated at the Royal Television Society’s Student Awards. Take a peek behind the scenes of her latest creation, below.
Calling all budding South West based artists – the fourth and final round of the BBC New Creatives scheme is open for applications.
Commissioned film, audio and interactive ideas will get funding, exposure on the BBC and mentoring from industry experts.
If you have an idea for a film, audio or interactive project, book a 1 to 1 session with one of our producers, they’ll provide expert advice on how to make your idea pitch-ready.
Amidst the corona pandemic and the subsequent struggles many creatives are facing, we are pleased to announce some good news: our third round of New Creatives have been commissioned! We are supporting 21 audio projects and nine short films from across the South West. They will be working alongside Calling the Shots, Screen Cornwall, Kaleider, Somerset Film, Create Studios and Artful Scribe.
The Round 3 projects will portray fresh perspectives on mindfulness, food poverty, living with autism, the Me Too movement, Welsh fairy tales and the Haitian origins of zombies. Plus much, much more.
They will be working remotely on development with support from their mentors and will go into production as soon as it is safe to do so.
